Hawaii Marine Animal Response

Hawaii Marine Animal Response is a non-profit that is partnered with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the State of Hawaii to support the preservation, recovery and stewardship of Hawaii’s protected marine species and the coastal ecosystem.

With only 1400 animals remaining, the protection of the endangered Hawaiian monk seal is paramount. HMAR surveys animals in the wild, dispatches volunteers to protect animals on the coastline, records data for population research, and provides outreach and education to the general public.
